I enjoyed being able to follow the BIRS workshop lectures through the Internet. I especially appreciated the mini-course on Sum Of Squares Theory and Statistics by Tselil Schramm. This was a real opportunity to get acquainted with a topic I wished to learn about a few years ago. T. Schramm did a very nice job and people behind the camera did well too. I also enjoyed topical lectures on site or through the Internet. Making at least some of the lectures given during a workshop available through the Internet is a great and useful accomplishment. Remote participation is not the same thing as attending, but at least it is something, and for those who do not like too much long distance trips, it is just great. Thanks to Luc and Gabor. Thanks to BIRS people.
I would like to say that this BIRS workshop was phenomenal! I learned a lot of exciting results both at the core of my research interests as well as those at the fringes. I feel a sense of re-energization as we (hopefully) begin to transition out of COVID.
