My graduate student, Jose Valenti, and I attended this meeting. It was perfect timing for us. Jose is just starting a project modelling plastic fiber movement in the Salish Sea. To get such a wonderful synopsis (with small group/long talks so we could understand it) of the current state of knowledge of the fluid dynamics of plastics was wonderful. Although we missed being at Banff, the meeting was hugely successful from our point of view. I feel I made new contacts, met old friends and jump-started Jose's research. This workshop was my first and it truly helped my research program.
