The opportunity to partake in the 2023 Stochastic Modelling of Big Data BIRS workshop is one I value deeply. I had the chance to bring three of my graduate students, as well as host several of my colleagues from Germany in Banff and share this experience with them. This proved to be very worthwhile, as we were able to share many cross-disciplinary ideas and inspire one another within our fields. I have always been a profound supporter of scholars from various backgrounds sharing their perspectives on a topic – and this workshop provided us with the opportunity to do just that.
