Kahler Geometry: Past, Present and Future (25w5435)

The Banff International Research Station will host the “Kahler geometry: past, present and future” workshop in Banff from September 21 - 26, 2025.

This workshop centers around the topic of Kahler geometry, which lies at the intersection of various mathematical disciplines, notably algebra (dealing with polynomial equations), geometry (studying spatial shapes), and analysis (involving partial differential equations). Over the past half-century, Kahler geometry has witnessed remarkable advances. Our primary objective is to bring together researchers from different generations and diverse areas of expertise to review past progress, discuss ongoing research activities, and engage in conversations about potential future developments.

The Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) is a collaborative Canada-US-Mexico venture that provides an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station is located at The Banff Centre in Alberta and is supported by Canada’s Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), and Alberta’s Advanced Education and Technology.
