Description

The Banff International Research Station will host the “Dynamic Allocation and Matching” workshop in Banff from March 2 - 7, 2025.

We are pleased to announce an upcoming workshop dedicated to fostering advances in the field of dynamic resource allocation and matching, an interdisciplinary domain that intersects areas of operations research, mathematics, engineering, computer science, and economics. This field of dynamic resource allocation and matching has consistently been a fertile ground for theoretical explorations and practical applications, directly influencing realms such as e-commerce fulfillment, organ transplantation procedures, online ride-sharing platforms, and efficient revenue management strategies.

Recent years have witnessed notable advancements in this field, and this workshop seeks to bring together leading researchers to dissect these developments and deliberate on existing open problems. The workshop will be hosted in a hybrid format and streamed live. In addition to tutorials and seminars, the workshop will have working sessions for researchers to collaborate on existing open problems and develop new research directions. The workshop is committed to diversity and interdisciplinary activities, and we especially welcome graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and individuals from underrepresented groups to join us at the workshop.

The Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) is a collaborative Canada-US-Mexico venture that provides an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station is located at The Banff Centre in Alberta and is supported by Canada’s Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), and Alberta’s Advanced Education and Technology.
