Description

The Chennai Mathematical Institute will host the "High Dimensional Probability XI" workshop in Chennai, India from December 6 to December 11, 2026. Participants will check in at the hotel starting on the evening of the Sunday prior to the start of the workshop, and check out before noon of the following Friday.

Modern probability theory often deals with high dimensional structures. In order to analyze them a variety of tools was developed over the years that turned out to be useful not only in probability theory itself, but in various other areas of mathematics, statistics and computer science.

The aim of this workshop is to bring together leading experts in high dimensional probability and a number of related areas to discuss the recent progress in the subject, present the major open problems and questions, deepen contacts between several different communities with common research interests and attract the attention of young researchers.

The Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) in Chennai, India, and the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) in Banff, are collaborative Canada-US-Mexico ventures that provide an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station in Banff is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), and Alberta's Advanced Education
