The workshop brought together a group of people from diverse groups that usually do not talk to each other, since they all have their own subfield conferences they go to. The BIRS conference provided us with unique opportunity to find common questions and see mathematical techniques that are currently used in one area, but potentially not in others. Additionally, the common questions that are asked in different domains will surely stimulate mathematical research to address them. I have made several significant new connections that I hope will lead to new collaborations and new mathematics.
